Program Summary The Big Wild is an effort to protect at least 50 per cent of Canada’s wild spaces. Currently 90 per cent is in public hands, but only 10 per cent is protected. The call for 50 per cent is based on the growing body of conservation science calling for the protection of large landscapes. See science The Big Wild is a partnership between Mountain Equipment Co-op and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
