Program Summary 20 Days Behind the Eyes of 20 Ugandan Children comes to you from Point Youth Media (PYM) done in partnership with a local Ugandan organization, Bavubuka Foundation. It exists under Globart: The Global Youth Art Initiative which connects youth on a global scale using creative forms of media arts. The first phase of this program was done in Uganda, and the second phase will be done in Vancouver, BC. 20 Days Behind the Eyes of 20 Ugandan Children consists of three different forms of activities. 1.Art Workshops 2.Photography (with disposable cameras) 3.Film-making Youth are encouraged to participate in all the activities and through documented learnings have shared that their film skills become much stronger when they are given a chance to participate in art and photography workshops from the outset. Program Details We are asking for donations at this time from $20-45 dollars, monies go towards providing the workshops, accommodation for project facilitators and art supplies. DONATIONS $20 donor Group photo of the twenty kids that participated $50 donor Group photo of the twenty kids that participated, an invitation to our premiere screening showcasing the art work done by Ugandan Youth $100 donor Group photo of the twenty kids that participated, an invitation to our premiere screening, and the most powerful individual shot + $100 donor group photo of the twenty kids that participated, an invitation to our premiere screening, most powerful individual shot taken by one of the twenty kids framed as well as a roll of photos taken by one of the twenty young kids showcasing his/her reality within their society. Where is the money going? Supporting the Kampala youth community by providing funding to hold art workshops effectively empowering and engaging present day leaders, helping them form and/or hone the skills they need to organize arts based events within their communities. Our goal is to reach out to 300 Ugandan children in terms of our art workshops and give some of these amazing kids the opportunity to invest in their arts skills as well as to create advocacy and empowerment strategies for use by Ugandan youth within their communities. Money is also going to provide the following art supplies: Disposable Cameras Sketch Paper Construction Paper Pencils Erasers Felt Markers Crayons Scissors Pencil Cases Glue Sticks Paint Paintbrushes We are collecting donations right up until August 30th, 2008.
